New to the Team GBR collection, Hiho Silver have launched this hard wearing unisex braided leather bracelet which is hand knotted and made from the finest quality Nappa leather. Easy and durable to wear with adjustable slip knot, this bracelet is a must-have equestrian accessory this summer.

Feeling a little left out by not being able to wear the previously launched ladies silver bracelet, Andrew Ransford (Hiho’s Managing Director) was keen to also be able to show his support for Equestrian Team GBR, commenting:

Laura Bechtolsheimer, 24, and Mistral Hojris have moved up to third place in the FEI World Individual Dressage Rankings.

The partnership of Bechtolsheimer and the charismatic 15-year-old Michellino gelding has gone from strength to strength and this position reflects what a force they now are on the world stage. They were instrumental to the success of the Brits at the European Championships, Windsor, and have continued their great form into 2010, achieving new personal bests and smashing previous British records.

The pair kicked off 2010 with phenomenal scores at Amsterdam CDI-W, where they finished second in both the grand prix and freestyle, hot on the heels of the Netherlands’ Edward Gal and Moorlands Totilas. They also enjoyed convincing wins at last month’s Lingen CDI4

Since equestrian events were first added to the Paralympics in 1996, Great Britain has dominated the sport with an impressive medal tally, while maintaining the team gold position.

The British Equestrian Federation’s (BEF) UK Sport funded World Class Programme which aims to provide a system that delivers more medals on the international stage (now and in the future), has a huge impact in ensuring the continued success of the squad and nurturing up and coming talent.

This year para-equestrian dressage will, for the first time, be included in the World Equestrian Games (WEG). The British para-equestrian dressage team will join other Team GBR members to compete in Kentucky, USA, together with seven other disciplines.

David Hunter, performance manager for the para-equestrian dressage team, discusses his hopes and aspirations as the Games draw closer.

Great Britain’s showjumping Children brought home Team Gold from the European Championships for the fourth year running. The 2010 Championships which took place in Jardy, France near Paris, saw the showjumpers, aged 14 years and under, give an outstanding performance, showing once again the incredible talent we have coming up through the sport.

With three of the team giving foot-perfect clears in the first round and only one team member having an unfortunate four faults they were already lying in equal first with six other teams who were all on zero (the three best scores count with the fourth being a drop score).

Prior to the fourteen teams coming forward to contest the second round in which Great Britain were drawn seventh to go, the fifth team members rode for their individual scores. It was 13 year old Charlotte Smet riding Louise Morley’s 10 year old liver Chestnut gelding Maneken du Coty who as fifth man showed the team what needed to by producing a superb clear.

First to go for Great Britain in the teams second round was 14 year old Katie Robertson from Cupar, Fife with Lynne Robertsons 9 year bay gelding Cameron Poe, followed by 13 year old Christie Pritchard from Holyhead with Allen Tredwell’s nine year old grey mare Larkspur. With both Katie and Christie producing text book clear rounds 14 year old Jake Saywell from Newark knew that if he produced a clear round with Ann Gascoine’s 9 year old grey gelding Cornelius 27 there was a very good chance that Great Britain would secure Gold. Producing exactly this, and as other teams faulted after, the team were in a position of knowing they had won the Gold even before the fourth team member, 13 year old Millie Allen from Stockton-On-Tee’s, had jumped.

With scores from both rounds counting towards qualifying for the Individual Championships, Millie jumped, proved her worth and the depth of talent within Great Britain by producing another clear with Rachel Steel’s 10 year old bay mare Trueleva.
